چکیده
There is an increase in the number of human infections associated with yeast species that are also known to be involved processing foods such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Debaryomyces hansenii, Wickerhamomyces anomalus, or Kluyveromyces marxianus. Clinical strains S. cerevisiae have been well studied over years and much regarding their virulence. However, very little about virulent potential D. W. K. In this study, several factors related virulence a collection clinical food/environmental isolated each were determined. Physiological looked at parameters infection epithelial cell culture model mortality invertebrate Galleria mellonella. The results revealed all evaluated marxianus (except for one strain) positive most physiological factors, parameters. anomalus produce 10 times higher levels G. mellonella besides showed intermediate according factors. case tested positive, but only single different parameter without common pattern. Thus, our study reveals some could risk health origin infections.

Electron microscopy of ascus formation in the yeast debaryomyces hansenii.
Ascus formation in Debaryomyces hansenii includes fusion of two cells, usually mother and daughter while still attached to each other, through short protuberances developed from the cross wall between them. Nuclear fusion takes place in the channel connecting the two cells; meiosis apparently occurs in the mother cell. Generally, only one lobe of the meiotic nucleus is surrounded by a prospore ...
متن کاملCharacterization of Yeast Protein Enzymatic Hydrolysis and Autolysis in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Kluyveromyces marxianus
Protein recovery under sonication treatment and autolysis, also protein hydrolysis progress during enzymatic hydrolysis (using trypsin and chymotrypsin) and autolysis (using endogenous enzymes) were investigated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Kluyveromyces marxianus. Crude protein content of dried yeast cells were 53.22% and 45.6% for S.cerevisiae and K.marxianus, respectively. After 96 hrs of...
متن کاملThe Potential of the Yeast Debaryomyces hansenii H525 to Degrade Biogenic Amines in Food
Twenty-six yeasts from different genera were investigated for their ability to metabolize biogenic amines. About half of the yeast strains produced one or more different biogenic amines, but some strains of Debaryomyces hansenii and Yarrowia lipolytica were also able to degrade such compounds. The most effective strain D. hanseniii H525 metabolized a broad spectrum of biogenic amines by growing...
متن کاملCopper-zinc superoxide dismutase from the marine yeast Debaryomyces hansenii.
We have isolated the cytosolic form of Cu-Zn superoxide dismutase (SOD) from the marine yeast Debaryomyces hansenii. This enzyme has a subunit mass of 18 kDa. The preparation was found to be heterogeneous by IF electrophoresis with two pI ranges: 5.14-4.0 and 1.6-1.8. The enzyme preparation had a remarkably strong stability at pH 6.0-7.0, surviving boiling for 10 min without losing more than 60...

The neutral lipids comprised 67%, and the phospholipids 33%, of the...
